Julia Harris Following a successful career in industry, Julia founded her first business North West Childcare in 1999 (now trading as Harris Childcare Recruitment) after looking for a nanny for her own children and finding herself unsatisfied with the standard of help available.
Julia then set up The Housekeeper Company, specialising in providing housekeepers and other domestic staff to clients nationwide. This then led to the launch of The Carer Company, providing companion/carers in households.
A mother of two sons and a very spoilt small dog, our yardstick for applicants is whether we would feel comfortable having them working in our own home and we only proceed if the answer is yes.

Julia has advised government ministers on childcare strategy; spoken at various cross-parliamentary meetings about overseas domestic workers; and advised the Home Office on skills shortages in the Care and Live in Sectors.
2017 has seen Julia steer Harris Recruitment into a new venture, offering bespoke corporate recruitment, through Harris Corporate Recruitment. Utilising the team’s experience from working previously in various sectors of the corporate world and using the same careful placement matching skills that Harris Recruitment is well known for, Julia is certain that this new Division will prove to be as successful as the others.
To simplify things, all of these divisions now trade as Harris Recruitment.
Jayne Maxwell is the first point of contact for many of our applicants. She understands the process involved when matching the applicants to positions and whatever the query, Jayne is always on hand and willing to take the time to listen.
Having worked at Harris Recruitment since 2002, Jayne is an integral and well established part of the company.
Friendly and approachable, she inspires confidence in both clients and applicants alike. As our Office Manager, Jayne’s efficiency, attention to detail and administrative skills are second to none.
As a mother and grandmother, Jayne’s experience means she understands both our applicants’ and clients’ needs. She also loves pets, especially her cat Rosie and is a second mum to Julia’s dog Scooter.
Jayne’s previous experience working in the hospitality and travel industries have proved to be a great asset to the new Harris Corporate Recruitment division.
Clare McKenna joined the company in 2014 as Marketing Manager. As a working mum with three young children and a Labrador she can definitely relate to the needs of many of our clients.
Clare’s previous experience includes over 15 years in financial services marketing working for several blue chip companies, including Citigroup, RBS and HBOS. Clare is very involved in Harris Corporate Recruitment, as her previous experience has proved invaluable in understanding the needs of our corporate clients.
After having her third child, Clare took on a voluntary role as chairperson of a committee running a local pre-school that her daughter attended. She has also run a marketing consultancy business working with clients to develop online and social media marketing strategies.
Clare’s expertise in marketing combined with her own experience of juggling work and family life means she is well placed to understand the real needs of our clients and to develop effective marketing campaigns that deliver tangible results. Clare handles online advertising as well as the majority of our reference verification.
